Super+P and gnome-settings-daemon

This article was published 6 years ago. Due to the rapidly evolving world of technology, some concepts may no longer be applicable.

I want to start gnome-settings-daemon to add support for all of my media keys, but I don’t want it to steal the super+p combination for xrandr.

Fortunately, there’s a nice easy way to fix this:

dconf write /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/xrandr/active false

Then start gnome-settings-daemon and you’re good to go.
